James Falkoff

Principal

James has over a decade of experience as a venture investor and has spent 16+ years in technology investing across public and private markets. He has been involved in over 25 early stage venture investments at Converge and prior firms. James has a track record of industry thought leadership, generating successful exits, and working closely with portfolio companies to drive growth.

Prior to Converge, James was a Principal at Longworth Venture Partners where he worked closely with Nilanjana Bhowmik to identify emerging segments with high returns potential, gain early access to startups, and develop the value-added expertise and network to win deals. James’ portfolio company involvements include Olapic (acquired by Monotype), RapidMiner (acquired by Altair), JIBE (acquired by iCIMS), and TrackVia (acquired by Primus Capital).

James is frequently published in leading tech media outlets and has written thought pieces on emerging areas including edge computing and robotics.

From 2006 to 2010, James was an equity research analyst at the investment bank Robert W. Baird & Co. where he covered the network equipment sector. At Baird, James worked on several high-profile technology IPOs including the IPO of Fortinet, a leading network security provider that now has a $60 billion market cap.

James earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he graduated with Highest Honors and was in the top 3% of graduates. He is also a CFA charter holder.
